Tell me something not many people know about Twinwood.
While many know Twinwood was an RAF base and Glenn Miller’s last known location, fewer might know the festival’s profound personal origins. The Twinwood site is a private estate owned by the family of the festival’s founder, David Hekkup. David grew up on Twinwood Farm, immersed in its wartime history and surrounded by the airfield’s remnants. His personal connection, alongside a deep passion for vintage aircraft and music, directly inspired him to create the festival. It was his vision to revive the airfield and honour its past, making the event a truly heartfelt tribute.
